What I think when I hear “Islam Means Peace”

I’m tired of hearing “Islam means peace.”

It means so much more than that, and we, as Muslims, do not need to excuse ourselves for anything, it’s time that we realize this and stop being defensive about discussing Islam, it’s time to underline how incredible Islam is and how it is a major source of what is right in the world, as well.

Honestly, it’s getting to the point that when I hear “Islam means peace,” I do this in my head:

Realize that Islam is awesomesauce, we don’t need to repeat these mantras for others, we need to be on the front-foot, not just telling them, but more importantly, showing them.
